About
My name is Mark Hibberd, I live in Brisbane, QLD, Australia with my wife (Monica) and son (Marty). I am very passionate about code. Lets just say I like it, I like it a lot. I have worked on, am working on and will work on a lots of products, projects and random pieces of code.
The start of this weblog catches me at a pretty good time. I am trying to shed my past of pointy-haired bosses and enterprisey folk who caused me way too much pain and get back to enjoying myself and my code. The plan is to try and keep fairly regularly posts for now and just see how much I enjoy writing.
In my non-blogging time, I am currently doing some work for the good folks at http://leapstream.com.au/ on boost and related things. I am also working towards my PhD, looking at debugging in model-driven development, concentrating on declarative model transformation languages like Tefkat.
In my dark (paid) past I have written elliptic-curve maths libraries in Java for RSA Security/EMC, played with some large distributed systems and database/ORM infrastructure for Mincom and tinkered with retail web-apps for some cash during my undergraduate studies.
In my lighter and altogether happier (freebie) past I enjoy getting into programming languages and compilers of all sorts and have an ongoing interest in a number of languages which I won’t mention for risk of sounding like an ass. I am sure you will get the picture as I write a few posts (hopefully anyway…).
